What happens when we step on the other side of accessibility and see the fruits of our labor in working toward access and equity for all learners?
Presentation materials
Accessibility is the 13-letter word that has institutions compelled, convicted and (sometimes) confused when it comes to ensuring access for all learners.
In this presentation, we’ll take accessibility out of the black box and demonstrate how the fruits of your labor translate to an inclusive experience for students and staff who rely on assistive technologies for access.
Join Justin Romack, a certified accessibility professional and Assistive Technology Coordinator with Texas A&M University, as he navigates documents, websites and apps with screen reading technologies. As a totally blind, native screen reader user, Romack will show you what access for this population of learners looks like on a daily basis, and share helpful tips to consider as you tweak, tinker with and troubleshoot content and media of your own. This presentation will offer practical advice to address accessibility needs for disability types such as blindness and visual impairments, hearing disabilities, learning disabilities and ADHD, and physical disabilities.
